Aryna Sabalenka’s quest to win her maiden French Open title remains on course after progressing to the quarterfinals of the 2026 edition of the competition.

Sabalenka beat Naomi Osaka 7-5, 6-3 in the fourth round in a match up between the two remaining top ranked players in the tournament after exits to fellow top seeds Coco Gauff and Iga Swiatek.

Sabalenka needed just an hour and 26 minutes to brush Osaka aside and set up a quartefinal date with 25th seed Diana Shnaider on Wednesday, June 3 and attributed her win to she not overthinking but focusing on her game according to WTA Tennis.

“I’m not really overthinking, I was able to kind of, like, separate myself from what’s going on this year at the Roland Garros. I have been around. Anything can happen. That’s tennis. That’s sports.”

“I’m just trying, once again, you know, to be focused on myself and make sure that when I’m there competing, I’m bringing my best level that I have, and I’m there, I’m fighting, and you know, I’m doing everything I can to get this trophy.”
