FC Barcelona new signing Karim Adeyimi has admitted that the immediate past campaign was far from his best.

He made this admission after signing a four year deal with the Spanish giants from German side Borussia Dortmund for a reported fee of $25 million with seven million in potential add-ons.

The German international missed out on competing at the 2026 FIFA World Cup but was on hand to sign the deal following the conclusion of the tournament that had Spain win the title after beating Argentina 1-0.

24 year old winger Adeyimi spent four seasons at Dortmund and is Barcelona’s second signing this offseason after the reigning Spanish La Liga Champions signed English winger Anthony Gordon from Newcastle.

After registering 10 goals and six assists in 39 games in all competitions last season, Adeyimi admitted that the move to Barcelona was quite a surprise.

“I couldn’t believe it to be honest because I know what I can do and the last season was not the best. I am really thankful for this opportunity.”

“[Barcelona boss Hansi Flick] was a big stone in everything because he said ‘I want you but I need you to give it all.’ For me, this was really impressive. I am honoured and thankful for this” Adeyimi said.
