The sign and building of the Court of Arbitration (CAS) is seen ahead of the verdict in South African double Olympic champion Caster Semenya's appeal against International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) testosterone rules on May 1, 2019 in Lausanne. The world's sports court will give the verdict on Semenya's challenge against rules regulating testosterone in female athletes, a verdict expected to have a profound impact on the future of women's sport. The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has scheduled October 8, 2026, for the hearing of Senegal’s appeal against the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) over the outcome of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations final.

The hearing will be held at CAS headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland, where the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) will challenge CAF’s decision to award Morocco a 3-0 victory after declaring Senegal had forfeited the final.

The FSF’s appeal, registered by CAS on March 25, 2026, seeks to overturn CAF’s ruling and have Senegal declared winners of AFCON 2025.

CAS said the case will follow its standard procedure after the parties failed to reach an agreement for an expedited hearing. The proceedings will also be held behind closed doors.

“After the hearing, the Panel will start its deliberations,” CAS said in a statement, adding that it cannot provide a timeline for the final decision”.

The tribunal has also warned against misinformation surrounding the case, urging parties and the public to rely only on official updates from CAS.

The dispute dates back to the AFCON 2025 final, where CAF recorded Senegal as having forfeited the match and awarded Morocco a 3-0 victory. The CAS ruling will determine whether that decision stands or whether the outcome will be revised.
