French defender Maxence Lacroix says joining Chelsea is the best move for his career after penning a six year deal with the London club.

Lacroix joined Chelsea from fellow English Premier League side Crystal Palace after aiding the club to win UEFA Europa Conference League title, FA Cup and Community Shield.

The 26 year old’s move to Chelsea comes on the back of his run with France at the 2026 FIFA World Cup where the French finished in fourth place; Lacroix’s contract with Chelsea runs till 2032.

“I think it’s the best move for me because it’s the best club in the world. It’s easy for people to speak well about this club because it has a lot of big history and I’m really proud to be a part of it now.”

“Of course, I know the league and I have also won trophies in England already, so I’m really happy to go into this next step in my career and to continue also this story in England for me” Lacroix said.
