Black Stars defender Tariq Lamptey has officially joined EFL Championship side Queens Park Rangers as a free agent.
The former Brighton and Hove Albion and Chelsea player made the move after leaving Italian Serie A side Fiorentina in the 2025-2026 season.
His time with Fiorentina was disrupted after suffering an ACL injury that ruled Lamptey out of action for a very significant time leading to his departure.
Lamptey returns to England after his stint in Italy and will compete for the club aiming to qualify to the English Premier League.
Speaking after sealing the move to QPR media, Lamptey shared how excited he was to join the club and compete again.

“I’m excited for the opportunity ahead. When I spoke to the gaffer… the project was an encouraging one. The team have ambitious goals for this season, so I’m looking forward to it.”

“I had a great start to my career, and I’ll keep continuing that. My recovery has gone well and I’m not too far away now. I’m looking forward to joining with the boys. Throughout my football journey I’ve always been resilient” Lamptey said.
