Member of Parliament for Asawase, Mohammed Muntaka Mubarak, has pledged to invest more to improve sports infrastructure in the constituency.
He made this pledge after commissioning the Dogo Moro Mini-Stadium at Asawase, a suburb of Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.
The mini stadium was named after former Black Stars defender Dogo Moro, who starred for Ghana’s National Men’s Football Team (Black Stars) title winning squads at the 1963 and 1965 AFCON.
Speaking at the event to officially open the facility that has a basketball court among other amenities, Mohammed Muntaka Mubarak, who doubles as Ghana’s Interior Minister stated,
“We marked another important milestone in our collective journey to transform the constituency through deliberate investment in infrastructure, youth development and sports.”
“With Dogo Moro now completed, Asawase has three completed AstroTurf facilities—Dogo Moro, Akurem Highlanders and Aboabo Middle B.”
“I remain committed to positioning Asawase as a hub for grassroots sports development while using sports as a powerful instrument for youth empowerment, social cohesion and economic opportunity.”
