Manchester United head coach Michael Carrick has stated that new signing Carlos Baleba will miss close to a month of playing time due to injury.
He said this in a press conference ahead of Man United’s English Premier League clash against Ipswich on Sunday, August 30 at Old Trafford.
Baleba sealed his move from Brighton and Hove Albion earlier this week for 70 million pounds with the 22 year old’s contract set to run to 2031.
Cameroon international Baleba became the third midfield signing by Man United in this transfer window after signing Youri Tielemans and Andrey Santos from Aston Villa and Chelsea.
However, Baleba is dealing with an ankle injury that will keep him out of action for a while according to Carrick who said,
“He’s got a little ankle issue. So, maybe a couple of weeks or so, maybe three weeks, we’ll see. But we knew that before, so it’s no major issue.”
“It’ll be great to have him back when we can. We’re delighted with Carlos. I think huge potential, massive potential. I think it’s a really exciting signing for us.”
