Uruguay defender Ronald Araujo says he is motivated to make the most of his loan move from Spanish La Liga side Barcelona to English Premier League club Liverpool.

Araujo completed his season long loan move earlier this week and will spend the 2026/27 season at Liverpool under head coach Andoni Iraola.

Speaking in his first interview as a Liverpool player, the Uruguay international expressed his excitement at joining one of the biggest clubs in world football.

“I’m excited to be here at this massive club with lots of history. I’m very motivated and really up for getting going. It happened really, really quickly, to be honest with you.”

“It’s a huge thanks to Liverpool for making that process so quick and for getting in touch and for their interest.”

“I think it was the ideal move for me at this stage in my career. I think it was a move that was necessary for me to take” Araujo said.
