Ghana winger Mohammed Kudus made his return to action after spending a significant amount of time on the sidelines.
The 26 year old played 22 minutes as a substitute in Tottenham Hotspurs’ 2-0 loss to Newcastle United at the Tottenham Stadium.
The loss is the second in as many league games for Spurs under new manager Roberto de Zerbi; Spurs lost 3-0 to Brentford in their opening league game of the 2026-2027 season.
Kudus replaced Mathys Tel in the 68th minute and proceeded to complete 11 of 13 pass attempts and had his solo shot attempt get blocked.
The former West Ham player had 24 touches overall in the game and was successful in his sole dribble attempt while registering two ball recoveries.
Kudus picked up a knee injury in January, 2026 against Sunderland and was expected to return in April but suffered a relapse while recovering from the injury that ruled him out further.
He missed seven months of game time and 25 games in all competitions for Spurs and wasn’t included in Ghana’s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
