It was a productive weekend for Ghanaian players abroad, with Antoine Semenyo, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, Tariq Lamptey and Iñaki Williams all making telling contributions for their respective clubs.

Antoine Semenyo

Antoine Semenyo registered his first Premier League assist of the season as Manchester City beat Crystal Palace 4-1 at Selhurst Park.

The Ghanaian forward set up Erling Haaland for City’s opener in the 17th minute, delivering a well-weighted cross into the box for the Norwegian striker to finish. Semenyo was also City’s biggest chance creator on the day, producing three chances.

Abdul Fatawu Issahaku

At Old Trafford, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku produced one of the weekend’s standout individual moments, despite Ipswich Town’s 5-2 defeat to Manchester United.

The Ghanaian winger showcased his pace in the 29th minute, racing past Luke Shaw before delivering a precise final ball for Leif Davis to finish and put Ipswich ahead.

Fatawu’s direct running and pace provided a constant threat from the wing, even though Ipswich eventually suffered a heavy defeat.

Tariq Lamptey

In the Championship, Tariq Lamptey made an immediate impact after coming off the bench for Queens Park Rangers against Blackburn Rovers.

The Ghanaian right-back delivered a pinpoint cross in the 74th minute, picking out Jimmy Dunne, who headed home the winning goal in QPR’s 2-1 victory.

Lamptey also created three chances, made three recoveries and completed three tackles during his second-half appearance.

Iñaki Williams

In Spain, Athletic Club captain Iñaki Williams also played a key role in his side’s 2-0 victory over Celta Vigo in La Liga.

The Ghana international started the game and played 65 minutes, providing an assist as Athletic Club secured all three points.

Williams recorded two shots on target and had 23 touches during his time on the pitch. He also had a big opportunity to score but couldn’t convert. The assist was Williams’ first of the season.

From England to Spain, Ghanaian players made their presence felt across Europe. Semenyo, Fatawu Issahaku, Lamptey and Iñaki Williams all provided assists for their clubs, underlining the growing influence of Ghanaian talent across Europe’s top leagues.
