Ghana Black Stars midfielder Caleb Yirenkyi has completed his move to English Premier League side Coventry City. (Scroll down to watch video)
Coventry City did not disclose the length of Yirenkyi’s contract or the transfer fee at the time of writing, although reports put the deal at around €35 million.
The 20-year-old joins Coventry from Danish side FC Nordsjaelland after two seasons with the club, having previously graduated from Ghana’s Right to Dream Academy.
Yirenkyi’s move to the Premier League comes after an impressive debut World Cup campaign, where he helped the Black Stars reach the Round of 32 at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Speaking after he was officially unveiled as a Coventry City player, Yirenkyi was upbeat about the move by stating,
“I’m excited to be at this club. I’ve heard so much about it and I really feel positive about being here.”
“When I spoke to the Head Coach about the plans and the style, it’s something I really like, and I look forward to learning from him. I want to give my best to the team each and every day.”
Yirenkyi is set to team up with fellow Black Stars player Brandon Thomas-Asante at Coventry City.
