Spanish La Liga side Atletico Madrid has emphatically and categorically stated that the club isn’t interested in selling forward Julian Alvarez to rivals FC Barcelona.
The club made this statement via an official release delivered on Wednesday, August 26 as heated transfer talk over the Argentine continues.
Atletico Madrid released the statement in response to Barcelona President Joan Laporta stating in a video that the club remained interested in signing Alvarez.
However, Joan Laporta’s actions seemingly angered Atletico Madrid who vehemently ruled out an Alvarez transfer to the Blaugrana side.
“This is not about money, it’s about dignity. The player is being victimised, but the only victim in the Julian case is us.”

“They have harmed us economically and socially. There is 0% chance of selling him to Barca. There is a campaign of many lies aand half-truths. The only one paying for this is Atletico” a section of the release stated.

26 year old Alvarez scored 20 goals and added nine assists in 49 games in all competitions.
