Real Madrid head coach Jose Mourinho has stated that he believes that star players Kylian Mbappe, Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Jr are compatible and can play together.
He made this statement in a press conference ahead of Madrid’s 2026-2027 season opener against Espanyol on Saturday, August 22.
The game will mark Mourinho’s official return to Real Madrid after getting appointed as head coach for the second time in his career this offseason.
Following the acquisition of Yan Diomande, many questions have been raised about fitting the Ivorian winger alongside Madrid’s big trio but Mourinho seemingly dismissed such suggestions by stating,
“It’s harder to find the perfect role for all three. I have a lot of confidence that we’ll do well when all three play together. I don’t think they’re incompatible at all.”

“They-Vinicius Jr., Bellingham, Mbappe-‘re incredible players but the tactical structure could be more difficult.”

“[Carlo] Ancelotti found the perfect role for Vini with Brazil, [Didier] Deschamps found the perfect role for Kylian, and [Thomas] Tuchel found the perfect role for Jude [at the World Cup].
