Manchester City defender Ruben Dias says the team is already looking ahead to competing in the upcoming English Premier League season.
He said this after Man City lost 3-0 to Arsenal in the 2026 Community Shield ahead of the start of the 2026-2027 season.
Kai Havertz, Riccardo Calafiori and Martin Odegaard scored for Arsenal in the big win in the curtain raiser. The game was the first official matchup for new Man City manager Enzo Maresca.
Despite the big loss, Dias didn’t sound bothered about missing out on winning the club’s first trophy of the season by stating,
“The most important is that we’re already looking forward. We’ll be ready for the next game. I joined [pre-season] midway. This is the third game since I’ve been back.”

“The feeling has been good. Today it’s frustrating. It was a final and we obviously wanted to win it. If there is a lesson then let it be this one because there’s a lot more coming.”

Man City open the new season with a tie against AFC Bournemouth on Sunday, August 23.
