Accra Hearts of Oak captain Benjamin Asare is the only home-based player named in Carlos Queiroz’s latest Black Stars squad for the upcoming 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
The Phobians goalkeeper is the sole representative of the Ghana Premier League in Queiroz’s 24-man squad for this month’s international fixtures.
Asare retains his place in the national team’s goalkeeping department alongside Lawrence Ati-Zigi and Joseph Anang.
His inclusion continues a strong run at international level after he was recently voted the best domestic-based Black Stars player for the 2025/26 season.
The Hearts of Oak captain has established himself as a regular member of the national team setup and will now compete with Ati-Zigi and Anang for the starting goalkeeping position.
