After a lengthy period of negotiations, Ghana defender Alidu Seidu has officially joined French Ligue 1 side OGC Nice.
Seidu joins Nice from fellow French club Rennes after his move dragged beyond the main transfer window. The 26-year-old, who was part of Ghana’s 2026 FIFA World Cup squad, joins Nice as the club deals with injuries to Antoine Mendy and Moise Bombito.
His Black Stars teammate Kojo Oppong Peprah recently left Nice to join Fenerbahce. After completing the move, Seidu spoke about his motivation to succeed at his new club.
“I’d already spoken to the club during the summer. In the end, I’ve joined slightly later than planned but with an enormous amount of motivation.”

“I want to play, to be on the pitch and to help the team and the club. I’m going to give everything to make sure that we have a good season together” Alidu Seidu said.
