Ajax Director of Football Jordi Cruyff has praised new signing Yves Bissouma, highlighting the experience the midfielder brings to the Dutch club.
The 30-year-old joined Ajax on a one-year contract after leaving Tottenham Hotspur as a free agent at the end of the 2025/26 season. His deal reportedly includes an option to extend it for another year.
Bissouma previously played for Lille in France and Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League before spending the past four seasons at Tottenham Hotspur.
Cruyff believes the Mali international’s experience at the highest level will be valuable to Ajax as he begins his new chapter in Amsterdam.
“We have brought in an experienced player who knows what it takes to perform at the highest level.”

“He is capable of playing in several positions, and we hope he will be available for selection as soon as possible” Cruyff said to the club’s media.

Before Bissouma, Ajax signed a bevy of players including Thilo Kehrer, Julian Brandt and Simon Adingra.
