Germany’s National Men’s Football Team head coach Jurgen Klopp is upbeat about his team’s future despite losing in his debut home game since taking over the head coaching role.
Former Liverpool boss, Klopp, took over as Germany head coach after the 2026 FIFA World Cup and registered a 2-2 draw against the Netherlands in his first game in charge.
However, Germany lost 1-0 to Greece in front of their fans in a UEFA Nations League clash on Sunday, September 27 with Dimitris Kourbelis scoring the winner in the 74th minute.
Kai Havertz and Jamal Musiala didn’t feature in the loss after picking up injuries against the Netherlands in the previous game.
“It’s part of the process. The lineup with all the changes is my responsibility. It was clear we wouldn’t be able to break down a deep-lying opponent.”
“Generally speaking, we’ve only been together for a week and the processes have to be right against a deep-lying opponent.”
“I’m not under pressure to get a result as long as we draw the right conclusions; the rest is just additional information” Klopp said after the game.
