After eight months out with an anterior cruciate ligament injury, Ghana defender Mohammed Salisu has returned to competitive action.
Salisu came off the bench in AS Monaco’s 2-1 win over RC Lens in the French Ligue 1, making a one-minute cameo.
Monaco secured the win in the 84th minute when Lens defender Jonathan Gradit scored an own goal. Despite his limited time on the pitch, Salisu made two clearances as Monaco held on for the victory.
The result extended Monaco’s unbeaten start to the 2026/27 league season, with four wins and a draw from their opening five games.

Salisu missed Ghana’s 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign through injury and was also left out of the Black Stars squad for the 2027 AFCON qualifiers against Côte d’Ivoire and The Gambia later this month.

Ghana will also take on Morocco in Tangier on October 4 in an international friendly game during the international window.
