Morocco have reportedly cancelled their planned international friendly against Ghana, which was scheduled to take place in Tangier on October 4.
The fixture had been announced as part of preparations for the upcoming international window, but sources now indicate that the match will no longer go ahead.
According to the reports, concerns had emerged within the Moroccan camp over the value of facing Ghana at this stage, with the Black Stars’ recent performances raising questions about the competitiveness of the proposed fixture.
Ghana suffered a heavy 4-2 defeat to The Gambia in their latest 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier after surrendering a two-goal lead.
The result followed Ghana’s opening 2-0 defeat to Côte d’Ivoire in the qualifiers, leaving the Black Stars without a point from their first two Group C matches.
Morocco, meanwhile, have been using the international window to prepare for their own AFCON campaign.
The reported cancellation has yet to be accompanied by a detailed official explanation from the Moroccan or Ghanaian football authorities.
