The Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) has provisionally suspended Cristiano Ronaldo as it investigates his departure from Portugal’s training camp ahead of their UEFA Nations League match against Denmark.
The FPF announced the decision on Saturday, October 10, following a meeting on Friday, October 9. The case has been referred to its Disciplinary Investigation Commission, with proceedings to be handled urgently.
Ronaldo’s departure from camp reportedly followed a disagreement with head coach Jorge Jesus after the forward was left on the bench during Portugal’s 2-1 win over Norway on September 27.

The Al-Nassr forward claims Jesus had promised him 30 minutes of playing time but failed to bring him on. Ronaldo also said the coach did not explain his omission during a subsequent press conference.
Jesus has denied making such an agreement with the former Manchester United and Real Madrid star.
Ronaldo has since apologised to his teammates and supporters over the incident, while acknowledging that the federation could impose disciplinary measures. He has also indicated his willingness to continue representing Portugal after serving any suspension.
