Sheffield beat Bristol City 1-0 away from home to rank 11th in the EFL Championship standings with the win coming in Jordan Ayew’s first start for the club since the veteran forward joined the Blades as a free agent this season.
Ayew played 69 minutes in the contest and completed nine of 13 passes accurately, while making five defensive contributions and winning three of eight ground duels.
Speaking after the win, Wilder was impressed with Ayew’s performance after Sheffield bounced back from a loss in midweek by stating that,
“We made some changes [to the starting unit]; delighted for Jordan.”

“His performance was really good, allowed us to go and press and get after them and allow us for them to go wrong for us to break up and control the game.”

“Hopefully it’s a great boost for his confidence but him and Kalvin[Phillips] were exceptional and outstanding.”
