The latest chapter in the feud between basketball star LeBron James and US President Donald Trump has unfolded after Trump criticised James over his conduct during the national anthem before a Philadelphia 76ers game.
President Trump took multiple shots at James over his conduct while the national anthem played before the Philadelphia Sixers’ season-opening game against the New York Knicks.
James was reportedly seen practising his shooting motion and mimicking a golf swing while the anthem played before the Sixers’ season opener against the New York Knicks. Trump aimed at the NBA star in a social media post, prompting James to respond to the criticism.
“I said right from the beginning that he’s no good, a TOTAL DISGRACE. LeBron James should apologize to all of those Great American Warriors and Heroes who died for the American Flag, and all that our Country stands for!”

“It’s a slow news day at the office, you know. Slow news day in the office” LeBron James said in response to Trump’s post.

James has in the past called President Trump a “bum” over his controversial political stance among multiple clashes on social media.

41-year-old James has averaged 15.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, and six assists two games into the 2026-2027 season.
