Manchester United manager Michael Carrick has backed himself to turn the club’s season around as pressure mounts on his position following a poor run of results.
Carrick is facing growing calls for his dismissal after United went seven matches without a win in all competitions, including a 4-1 Champions League defeat to Como on Wednesday, October 23.
United sit 13th in the Premier League, leaving Sunday’s home clash against Bournemouth a crucial test for the under-pressure manager. Despite the mounting scrutiny, Carrick remains confident he can revive the team’s fortunes.
“100% I can turn it round,” he said at his pre-match press conference.
The United manager also dismissed suggestions of division within the dressing room, insisting he remains in communication with the club’s hierarchy.

“The dressing room is not divided. We have spoken with the club, always conversations going on,” he said.
Carrick acknowledged that United need to respond to their recent performances and accepted responsibility for leading the team through the difficult period.
“A reaction is needed from me. Our responsibility is to lead,” he added.
United’s meeting with Bournemouth at Old Trafford on Sunday gives Carrick a chance to end the winless run and ease the pressure on his future. However, another disappointing result could intensify calls for his dismissal as the club continues to struggle for consistency.
