Viktor Gyökeres continued his remarkable scoring run for Sweden, finding the net for the seventh consecutive international match despite his struggles in front of goal for Arsenal.
Gyökeres scored the only goal as Sweden beat Romania 1-0 in the UEFA Nations League, adding to his goals against Poland and Bosnia and Herzegovina in his recent international appearances.
The victory was Sweden’s third in four games and moved them to the top of League B Group 4 with 10 points, two ahead of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Speaking after another decisive performance, Gyökeres admitted the match was difficult, particularly because Sweden failed to put the game beyond Romania.
“It feels good. It feels like you get good chances and then you score. But we could have done something more in the first half and killed the game.”

“We let them play and didn’t get up to the pressure well enough in the second half, so we made it difficult for ourselves”.

“We manage to keep a clean sheet, it’s been a while so that’s very positive. Then it’s clear that we need to control the match a little more” Gyokeres said to Viaplay.
