Italy head coach Roberto Mancini has urged his team to maintain the level of performance that earned them an impressive 3-1 win over Türkiye in the UEFA Nations League on Monday, October 5.
Gianluca Scamacca, Riccardo Calafiori and Francesco Esposito scored as Italy secured their second win in four games since Mancini returned for his second spell in charge.
Mancini’s record now stands at two wins, one draw and one defeat, with the experienced coach pleased with his team’s performance against Türkiye. The victory moved Italy to second in League A Group One with seven points, three behind leaders France.
Mancini now wants his players to build on the result and maintain their recent level as they continue their Nations League campaign.
“We started poorly but we did well to get back into it, create chances and score. We knew that changing nine players would cost us something, but we had no alternative.”

“We have to keep going like this. We’ll see what happens in November. We’ll probably go to Belgium with qualification on the line” Mancini said.
