Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso has described his side’s 5-1 win over AFC Bournemouth as a “complete performance” after they bounced back from a 3-0 defeat to Brentford in their previous Premier League outing.

Chelsea delivered an impressive display at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, October 10, with Jordan Henderson and João Pedro both scoring twice.

Cole Palmer also provided an assist in a strong performance that came after criticism over his recent absence from the England national team.

Alonso praised his team’s display against Bournemouth, highlighting the response after their defeat to Brentford.

“Today was a complete performance,’ he said. ‘We were in control for most parts of the game, so I’m happy with that.”

“We had good stability. In defence, there were a couple of situations in the first half.”

“Overall, I’m happy with the control and the performance. There are many positives to take into the future and to keep going”.
