Ampem Darkoa Ladies have bowed out of the 2026 CAF Women’s Champions League despite picking up two wins in the group stage.
The Ghanaian champions began their Group B campaign with a convincing 5-1 victory over Mali’s USFAS Bamako before securing a 2-1 win against Uganda’s Kawempe Muslim Ladies.
However, a 2-0 loss to defending champions AS FAR in their final group fixture ended their hopes of reaching the semi-finals.
All three teams finished on six points, but the head-to-head tie-breaker left Ampem Darkoa with a goal difference of -1, resulting in their elimination.
Having scored seven goals in their first two matches, Charles Anokye Frimpong’s side will now shift their focus to domestic football.
The team will look to regroup, address the weaknesses exposed in their final group game and return to the GoldFields Women’s Premier League as they seek to defend their title and earn another opportunity to compete on the continent.
