The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has pledged its full support to the family of the late Fabulous Ladies player Agartha Takyiwaa and assured them of its commitment to ensuring that those responsible for her killing are brought to justice.
A GFA delegation visited the bereaved family on Tuesday, November 3, to express condolences and offer institutional support following the tragic death of the player.
During the visit, the delegation conveyed the personal and institutional support of GFA President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, assuring the family that the football community stands with them during this difficult period.

The Association also disclosed that it is cooperating with the Ghana Police Service to ensure that those responsible for the killing are brought to book.
Takyiwaa, who was 22, was killed on Thursday, October 29, at Afrancho in the Atwima Kwanwoma District of the Ashanti Region.
The Fabulous Ladies player had reportedly finished training and resumed work as a commercial tricycle operator, popularly known as a pragya rider, when she was attacked.

According to her club’s head coach, Nana Atuahene, Takyiwaa had picked up a passenger and was transporting her to Afrancho New Site when she encountered suspected assailants who allegedly attempted to seize her tricycle.
She was stabbed multiple times in the thigh, stomach and neck during the attack. The assailants reportedly fled with her tricycle and mobile phone.
Two suspects were subsequently arrested in Techiman in connection with the alleged murder, with the stolen phone’s location helping to track them down. Takyiwaa was preparing for the 2026/27 Women’s Division One League season before her death.

Beyond its commitment to pursuing justice, the GFA has assured the family of its readiness to provide logistical and financial assistance through the Ashanti Regional Football Association to help give the player a befitting burial.
The visit was led by GFA Executive Council Members Dr Gifty Oware-Mensah and Frederick Acheampong, alongside officials from the Ashanti Regional Football Association and representatives of Fabulous Ladies.
