Manchester United head coach Michael Carrick has backed his players’ commitment to the club ahead of Tuesday’s UEFA Champions League clash with AS Roma at Old Trafford.
Carrick made the comments amid growing criticism from fans and former United players over the team’s recent performances and commitment.
United head into the game on a nine-match winless run across all competitions, adding pressure on the team to turn their form around.
The Red Devils opened their Champions League campaign with a win over Azerbaijan side Sabah FK but have since suffered defeats to Atletico Madrid (2-0) and FC Como (4-1). Despite the criticism, Carrick insists he has no doubts about his players’ dedication to the club.
“The dressing room is a good place. Perception is a funny thing.”

“You can make things look different ways and think about all sorts of different things.”

“The commitment of the players to the club, to me, to each other – do not question at all. We need to play better, we can make better decisions, but the commitment is not a thing at all.”
