Spanish football is in mourning following the death of CD Tenerife striker Jesús de Miguel Alameda, who died on Tuesday, November 3, aged 30.
De Miguel suffered a cardiorespiratory arrest after colliding with FC Andorra goalkeeper Jesús Owono during Monday’s Spanish Segunda División fixture at the Estadio Heliodoro Rodríguez López.

The incident occurred late in the match when Owono rushed out of his area to clear a long ball but collided with the Tenerife forward. Medical personnel immediately attended to De Miguel before he was taken by ambulance to the University Hospital Nuestra Señora de Candelaria.
He was admitted to intensive care, but his condition deteriorated overnight. Tenerife confirmed his death on Tuesday morning, at 8:00 a.m. local time. The match was abandoned at 2-2, with Owono sent off following the collision.
De Miguel joined Tenerife from CD Castellón in July 2025 on a three-year contract and played a key role in the club’s promotion campaign to the Segunda División.

He scored 11 goals in 29 league appearances during the 2025/26 season, helping Tenerife secure an immediate return to Spain’s second tier. His start was particularly impressive, with six goals and three assists in his first five league matches. He was subsequently named Primera Federación Player of the Month for September 2025.
Before joining Tenerife, De Miguel scored 25 goals during his spell at Castellón. His best season came in 2023/24, when he netted 16 times in the Primera Federación to help the club earn promotion to the Segunda División.
In the 2026/27 Segunda División season, he had made four appearances, playing 59 minutes without scoring or providing an assist before Monday’s match against Andorra, according to LaLiga statistics.
Across his senior league career, De Miguel recorded 266 appearances and 74 goals. CD Tenerife expressed its condolences to his family, friends, teammates and supporters, while asking for privacy as they mourn his death.
