West Ham United have parted ways with Head Coach Nuno Espírito Santo with immediate effect following a review of the club’s disappointing start to the EFL Championship season.
The London club confirmed the decision in a statement on Tuesday, November 3, adding that Assistant Head Coach Rui Pedro Silva and Goalkeeper Coach Rui Barbosa have also left their positions.
The West Ham board believes a change in leadership is necessary to keep the club’s objectives and expectations on track.
Nuno’s departure comes after a difficult start to the campaign, with the club now beginning the search for a new head coach.
West Ham United are currently 8th in the Championship after 13 games with 6 wins, four draws and three losses.
They have won two of their last six games and have lost back-to-back home matches. They went down 3-2 to Southampton and then 3-1 to West Bromwich Albion on Saturday, October 31.
In the interim, Mark Noble, Steve Potts and Gerard Prenderville will oversee squad preparations ahead of Tuesday evening’s Championship fixture against Cardiff City.
West Ham say the recruitment process for a new head coach is already underway but have declined to make further comment until an appointment is confirmed.
The club also thanked Nuno and his coaching staff for their work and commitment during their time at the London Stadium, wishing them well in their future endeavours.
