#AFCONonCiti: Benin vs Cameroon [Match Preview]

BENIN

The Squirrels of Benin must avoid defeat against the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon in their game in Group F to secure qualification for the Round of 16 in the ongoing AFCON tournament in Egypt.

Benin have drawn both of their games so far; a 2-2 draw game against the Black Stars in their opener and a barren game against Guinea Bissau.

The West Africans were poor in their last game as they were held to a goalless match leaving them with just 2 points in two games.

Michel Dussuyer and his team still stand a chance if they beat the current champions of Africa in their last game of the group stages.

A draw may just not be enough to help advance as one of the best third-placed teams in the tournament.

CAMEROON:

The African champions are in the best position to qualify for the next phase of the tournament from the group as they have 4 points from two games.

The Indomitable Lions beat the Djurtus of Guinea Bissau by two goals to nil and were held by the Black Stars to put them on top of Group F.

A heavy defeat against Benin will most likely enable them to qualify as one of the best third-placed teams. A draw may push them to second if Ghana wins heavily against Guinea Bissau.

A win would cement their grip on the first position.

That game and Ghana’s encounter with Guinea Bissau will kick-off simultaneously at 16:00GMT as Cameroon and Benin remain in Ismailia while Ghana face Guinea Bissau in Suez.
