Paris St. Germain continued preparations for their Champions League quarter final tie against Atalanta next month with thumping 4-0 victory over Celtic in a friendly match played at the Parc de Prince in Paris on Tuesday night.

But more significantly for the game was the return of fans to the stadium for the first time since the coronavirus pandemic forced France to cancel football in the country.

The match was played in front of up to 5000 fans but the celebrations of supporters watching on Zoom were broadcast onto the big screens in the Parc des Princes.

Goals from Kylian Mbappe, Neymar, Ander Herrera and Pablo Sarabia handed Thomas Tuchel’s men the convincing win in the preparatory game.

Striker Kylian Mbappe had the home side ahead in the first minute with a smart finish and, in the 25th minute, Brazilian superstar Neymar added a second.

PSG made wholesale changes for the second half but, if anything, increased their control with two of their substitutes, Marco Verratti and Ander Herrera, combining three minutes after the restart for the latter to fire in a third.

Pablo Sarabia added a fourth in the 66th minute with a stunning volley and the French champions ran out easy winners.
