Bjet Sports Consult launch maiden edition of ‘Soccer Talent Hunt’

Bjet Sports Consult has launched the maiden edition of the Soccer Talent Hunt at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The initiative is designed to unearth and nurture football talents in Ghana.

The scouting programme is shaped at identifying the best football talents between the ages of 14-23, especially in the rural areas and give them a platform to display and enhance their talent.

Speaking at the launch, Project Coordinator, Mrs Samira Abdul Ganiyu said, the recruitment was opened to young talented footballers across the regions who would have go through four stages before being selected for an intensive training.

She said after going through the stages of recruitment, a total of 40 players will be selected into an Academy where the players will be housed and monitored by top local and foreign coaches with scouts occasionally trooping in to evaluate the players.

At the end of the camp the best five will be selected and honoured with the ultimate walking home with a cash prize of GHC 10,000 with an all-expense paid trials at a club outside Ghana. The second will earn GHC 7,000, third will get GHC 5,000 with fourth and fifth best players handed GHC 2,000 and an all-expense paid trip to outside the country for trials.

Interested footballers are to text *920*12# across all networks to begin the process of registration.

Speaking at the event, Captain Andy Sam pledged his support to the project stating that it will give young footballers the platform to showcase their talents and ride on that to become household names in Ghana and overseas.

Chairman of the occasion, Neil Armstrong-Mortagbe assured the team of his unwavering commitment to the partnership.

Former Black Stars player, Augustine Arhinful who also started his career through such an initiative applauded the team and urged them to remain consistent to help a lot of players achieve their dreams.
