Matchweek 3 in the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League was an engaging affair that saw the favourites pick up some key wins.

At the Gyandu Park, Hasaacas Ladies picked up a very comfortable victory over Police Ladies.

Doreen Copson, Veronica Baah, Doris Boaduwaa and Fiduos Yakubu were all on target for Hasaacas as they maintained their lead at the top of the Southern Zone table with a 4-0 win.

Faith Ladies were also big winners this weekend, earning a 3-1 win at home to Army Ladies.

Mabel Amoyaw and Victoria Salifu scored for Berry Ladies in their 2-0 win over Ladystrikers.

Catherine Arthur’s late first-half strike for Essiam Socrates Ladies was cancelled out by Soccer Intellectuals‘ Janet Amo two minutes after the break in their 1-1 draw.

The most exciting game in the Southern Zone was the 3-3 draw between Ridge City and Thunder Queens, which included a brace for Cecilia Agyiri.

Hasaacas have a three-point lead at the top of the table having won all three of their games so far.

In the Nothern Zone, defending champions Ampen Darkoa thrashed Dreamz Ladies, with a brace by Mary Amponsah and Mavis Owusu’s strike, all in the second half.

Pearlpia Ladies held off a late fightback by Fabulous Ladies to win 3-2 while Ashtown Ladies picked up a comfortable 4-1 win at home to Candy Soccer Academy.

Mary-Rose Akunne scored an 83rd-minute for Northern Ladies in their 2-2 draw with Supreme Ladies.

On Monday, Tamale Super Ladies host Prisons Ladies at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium.

Ampem Darkoa, Ashtown Ladies and Pearlpia Ladies are all on three points with similar records of two wins and a draw.
