GFA has successfully paid up all prize monies and outstanding match officials fees- GFA President

Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku has stated that Association has cleared all financial payments due competition winners and outstanding fees owed to match officials.

He said this in his speech at the 2023 GFA Awards where several stakeholders in the Ghanaian football space were recognized for their outstanding work in the past season. (Click highlighted text to read full story)

In the lead up to the awards, there were rife reports about the Association’s failure to pay outstanding fees to referees and match commissioners.

“The GFA end of season Awards aim to recognize and reward not only players but also individuals and entities that have contributed significantly to the growth and development of football in Ghana. This includes coaches, referees…who work tirelessly to support our beloved sport.

I am also happy to announce that the FA has successfully paid up all prize monies that is due all our competing winners as far as the just ended football season is concerned and that includes we paying up our match officials.”

Medeama SC’s Vincent Atinga and Ampem Darkoa’s Mary Amponsah were named Player of the Season in the Male and Female Category Premier League level respectively.

Julian Nunoo was named the Referee of the Year.
