Amanda Clinton on 2023 GFA Elections Controversies: You need to give a sense of choice

Former Ghana Football Association (GFA) Presidential aspirant Amanda Clinton is calling for the 2023 GFA Elections to have a “sense of choice”.

She made this call as several legal oriented controversies have dogged the elections that was originally slated to be held on September 27 in Tamale but has been postponed to a yet to be determined date due to an injunction filed by King Faisal Babies Football Club.

Beyond the above mentioned issue, GFA Presidential aspirant George Afriyie has been disqualified (at the time of writing) over the ineligibility of one of his endorsers.

The GFA Elections Committee made this decision and the Appeals Committee upheld the decision to disqualify the former Vice GFA President.

“For an organization (GFA) screaming for that sense of game changer choice and him (incumbent GFA President Kurt Okraku) coming out and saying you know am the keeper of the safe, so to think for Ghana football et cetera, this is not how you do it.

Lawyer Amanda Clinton

Footballers -administrators-they are all the same people they are from the same cloth but you need to give a sense of choice” Lawyer Amanda Clinton said on Citi FM’s Eye Witness News.

Kurt Okraku is set to go unopposed in the race for the GFA Presidential seat should Afriyie’s qualification still hold. On his part, Afriyie’s legal team is preparing to send the case to Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). (Click highlighted text to read full story)
