Ivan Anokye Mensah joins Slovakia’s Dukla Banská Bystrica

Ghana international lvan Anokye Mensah has completed a move to Slovak outfit following a successful loan spell at MŠK Žilina Football Club.

‘The soldiers’ decided to trigger the buy option which was part of the terms of his loan deal, after the defender impressed during his loan spell.

The 2021 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations Gold Medalist joined the Dukla based club with a few matches to end the 2023/24 season.

He went on to make ten (10) appearances; starting in eight (8) matches and also coming off the bench twice (2).

Anokye’s new contract with Dukla Banská Bystrica runs until the summer of 2027. The 20- year-old centre-back who also plays right full back, will be expected to provide solid cover at the back for Coach Marek Bažík men at the SNP Stadium next season.

In the 2023-2024 season, Anokye Mensah played 15 games in all competitions and registered an assist in the lead up to his move to Bystrica.

Prior to moving outside Ghana, Anokye Mensah played for Inter Allies; in a related development, Inter Allies recently qualified to the Access Bank Division One league from the Division II.
