Ghana and Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey has stated that the Gunners need to be confident in themselves to be able to compete against the best teams in Europe.
His comments comes on the back of Arsenal missing out on the English Premier League title to Manchester City by two points; he made these comments after secured a 5-4 win on penalties over AFC Bournemouth.
“I think the confidence is always there. We are there to compete with the best and we know we need to get the best out of ourselves to be able to compete. We have to compete against each other and then, at the end of the day, we will be able to compete against the other teams.”
Partey featured in the preseason win for Arsenal that had fellow Ghanaian international Antoine Semenyo score for Bournemouth via a deflection.
The veteran midfielder is aiming to play a more prominent role in the upcoming season after missing significant time to injury last season that forced to also miss competing for Ghana at the 2023 AFCON.
