Team Ghana has missed out on competing in the final of the Men’s 4×100 Metre Relays after getting disqualified despite completing the race and finishing sixth in a time of 38.62 seconds.

The West African nation got disqualified on the grounds of lane infraction that stemmed from a problematic baton change between Abdul-Rasheed Saminu who started the race and Benjamin Azamati who run the second leg for Team Ghana.
This marks another disappointing turn of events for the talented group in the aftermath of finishing second at the 2023 African Games in Accra and missing out on securing qualification to the 2024 Paris Games on two previous occasions. Ghana’s silver medal at the African Games was down to a not so smooth baton exchange.
