Ghana defender, Alidu Seidu, has scored his debut goal for the Senior National Men’s Football Team-the Black Stars.

Seidu’s goal was registered in Ghana’s 1-1 draw with Niger in Berkane, Morocco in the 2025 AFCON qualifiers. (Click highlighted text to read full story)

The Stade Rennes player gathered a pass from teammate Mohammed Kudus and unleashed a powerful shot that hovered in the wind to sail past Niger goalkeeper Younoussa Hainikoye in the 44th minute.

However, Seidu’s brilliant goal was cancelled out by Niger defender Oumar Sako in the 81st minute when he pounced on a loose ball inside the box to score.

Seidu started for the second game in as many 2025 AFCON qualifiers for Ghana after starting in Ghana’s 1-0 loss to Angola.

The 25 year old played out the entire duration of the game and aside scoring, Seidu registered two interceptions and won five of eight ground duels.

After spending four seasons with French Ligue 1 side Clermont Foot, Seidu joined fellow French side Stade Rennes in June 2024 and has made three league appearances.
