Assistant head coach of Sudan’s National Men’s Football Team, Ignatius Fosu, has slammed the state of the pitch assigned to the team to train on ahead of its 2025 AFCON qualification game against Ghana.
Ghana takes on Sudan in the first of two Group F games on Thursday, October 10 at the Accra Sports Stadium with Ghana ranked third two points behind Sudan in second place.
Speaking ahead of the game that kicks off at 16:00 GMT, Ignatius Fosu expressed some concerns his team raised about the training pitch.
“Preparations have not been bad, but our only problem is the training pitch. It hasn’t been the best but we will take it like that. What we were given at St. Thomas. Aquinas (Senior High School) is not good” Fosu said.
Sudan head coach James Kwasi Appiah, coached the Black Stars twice at the AFCON and has been widely praised for his work since taking over head coaching duties with Sudan.

Fosu coached a handful of Ghana Premier League teams before joining Appiah’s technical staff with Sudan.
