Ghana forward Jordan Ayew has described his winning goal for Leicester City in The Foxes’ English Premier League win over Southampton as one that wasn’t easy to score.

He said this after scoring Leicester City’s third in a 3-2 win over Southampton at the St. Mary’s Stadium despite Leicester trailing 2-0 at half time.

Ayew came off the bench and peeled away from his marker to connect with a pass from a corner kick to score in the 98th minute and secure back to back wins for Leicester City.

In a related development, fellow Ghanaian and Leicester City teammate, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, came off the bench to assist Facundo Bounanotte score The Foxes first goal and spark the comeback.

Leicester City manager Steve Cooper praised Issahaku’s performance and in an interview with BBC Sport after the game, the veteran Black Stars player was happy his effort got Leicester the win. (Click highlighted text to read full story)

“Massive three points, back to back wins especially after the international break is not easy. We did well, we fought, we pushed them and pushed ourselves and got the three points.”

It (the goal) was just natural instinct. Luckily the ball came, it wasn’t easy but I managed to score. We’re all happy and hopefully there is more to come.”
