Kumasi Asante Kotoko Sporting Club head coach, Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum, has slammed the state of the playing surface at the Wenchi Stadium.

His comments were made at the post-game interview after Kotoko drew goalless with home side Young Apostles in a midweek Ghana Premier League clash in Wenchi.

The result marked the second game in a row that Kotoko dropped points after playing out a one all draw with defending league champions FC Samartex in the previous round of games.

Speaking in the interview, Dr. Ogum was far from impressed about the pitch and blamed the bumpy surface for the physical nature that characterized the contest.

“I think it was a very physical game and I think it was so due to the nature of the pitch.”

Kumasi Asante Kotoko head coach Dr. Prosper Ogum

“The pitch did not allow both teams to keep the ball on the turf and play because anytime the ball you pass the ball on the turf, it just changes direction and it was difficult to me, for both teams to play. Mostly the ball was in the air…so to me, basically, it was a physical game which had to do with just ballooning the ball from one end to the other.”
