Brighton and Hove Albion Football Club head coach, Fabian Hurzeler, is optimistic about the chances of Tariq Lamptey returning from an ankle injury to compete before the season ends.
He provided the update on the Black Stars full back during his pre-game presser in the lead up to Brighton’ FA Cup quarterfinals tie against Nottingham Forest on Saturday, March 29.
Lamptey was in line to feature in Brighton’s English Premier League clash against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium before the international break after serving a red card suspension.
However, Tariq Lamptey missed Ghana’s games against Chad and Madagascar due to an injury and Hurzeler believes that the injury, which is an ankle related ailment, won’t shut down the former Chelsea player for the season.
“Tariq has an ankle injury. I think there’s a chance that we will see him back [before the end of the season]. He is a good healer, I have a big trust in my medical staff and in Tariq’s mindset to be back on the pitch as quickly as possible. There’s a chance that he will be back in several weeks” Hurzeler said.

Ghana beat Chad 5-0 and beat Madagascar 3-0 to get in pole position to qualify to the 2026 FIFA World Cup from Group I.
