Head coach of Kumasi Asante Kotoko Sporting Club, Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum, says he was impressed by the level of support shown by fans at the Baba Yara Stadium.
Dr. Ogum has on several occasions this season bemoaned the level of support at home games but was thankful to Kotoko supporters for keeping fate with the team as the Porcupine Warriors got a late winner in the MTN FA Cup quarterfinals. (Click highlighted text to read full story)
Kwame Opoku struck in the fifth minute in added on time in the second half to give Kotoko a 2-1 win over True Democracy.
Saaka Dauda and Isaac Botchway scored earlier in the game before Opoku’s late winner secured the Porcupine Warriors qualification to the second half and Dr. Ogum was grateful for the support at the Baba Yara Stadium that had Ashanti Regional Minister Dr. Frank Amoakohene in attendance.

“They’ve been very amazing and today I really saw a support [like] the 1980’s, the 1990’s…they were so hopeful, overly hopeful; they knew we were going to win so even though time was not on our side, they kept their calm, I never heard anybody say something negative to any player. It was so beautiful so I want to say a very big thank you to them” Dr. Ogum said.
