In what can only be described as a fitting finale for a competition of this stature, the Women’s FA Cup final between Jonina Ladies and Faith Ladies delivered drama, passion, and moments of brilliance that will linger in the memories of fans.

Both sides started cautiously, with fierce goalpost clearances and commanding performances from both goalkeepers, who stood tall as the first half ended scoreless.

Faith Ladies’ Anastasia Bansah saw an early yellow card at the eighth minute, adding to the tense and physical nature of the contest.

Jonina Ladies made a tactical substitution late in the first half, but neither side could find a breakthrough as the whistle blew for halftime.

The second half mirrored the first; tight, tense, and tactical; where clear chances were scarce and the deadlock remained unbroken.

With 90 minutes gone, the score line still read 0-0, sending the final into the gripping unknown of extra time.

Then the drama exploded. Just two minutes into extra time, Jonina Ladies’ Joyce Atimbila fired a goal that ignited celebrations; though brief.

Faith Ladies responded with lightning speed; a mere 51 seconds later, Erica Obeng Apreku equalized with a fierce strike that shifted momentum.

Apreku, who was the star of the night, sealed the win with a second goal in the 112th minute, demonstrating remarkable composure and resilience.

Faith Ladies held their nerve as Jonina Ladies launched desperate attacks in the closing moments, and when the final whistle blew, Faith Ladies were crowned champions with a hard-fought 2-1 victory.
