Black Queens head coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren has stated that his team’s clash against Nigeria in a friendly clash is a step up in competition.
Ghana’s National Women’s Football Team take on Nigeria on Sunday, June 29 in the last of three friendly games ahead of this year’s Women’s AFCON.
This year’s Women’s AFCON takes place in Morocco from July 5 to July 26 with 12 nations competing and the Black Queens are in Group C with defending champions South Africa, Mali and Tanzania.
Speaking to GFA media in an interview, Bjorkegren shared his thoughts on the upcoming game after overseeing the Black Queens beat Malawi 3-1 and Benin 4-2 in the lead up to the clash against Nigeria.
“With full respect of Malawi and Benin that we have played against, Nigeria is one step up, one of the best teams in Africa; good players in almost every position so it’s going to be a very tough game but that’s also what we need now” Bjorkegren said.

“We have to show that our lowest level is high enough…so it’s just going to be fun to match against one of the best teams and I’m really looking forward to that one” Scroll down to watch interview.
