Ghana’s National Women’s Football Team, the Black Queens, are still searching for a win two games into the 2024 CAF Women’s AFCON in Morocco.

The Queens lost 2-0 to defending champions South Africa in the opening game and followed it up with a 1-1 draw with Mali.

Ghana took the lead through Alice Kusi’s effort to force the ball over the line after Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah’s cross caused chaos in the Malian box in the sixth minute.

However, the Malian drew even in the 53rd minute when Aissata Traore skipped past the Ghanaian defence to slot the ball past the onrushing Cynthia Konlan from Ghana’s post.

Ghana piled on the pressure after the equalizer with Princella Adubea squandering two very good chances first when she opted to attempt a shot instead of feeding Boye-Hlorkah and a poor first touch robbed her off the chance to square the ball to Doris Boaduwaa for an what would have been an easy tap in.

The result means that Ghana need to win its final Group C game against Tanzania to stand a chance of progressing to the next round.
